Our Board of Directors consists of founding members of the Foundation and successful women in various professions.

Kitty Burke, Founder

Kitty has been involved in environmental conservation, affordable housing, and women's issues here and in the West Indies. Today she is helping to shepherd Turkey Land Cove Foundation to its full and long-range potential. 

The Foundation has already celebrated the 100th TLCF Woman and we look forward to our 200th.

Kathy Tarantola, Secretary

Kathy Tarantola is a widely published freelance photographer working throughout New England and beyond.  In addition, Kathy teaches digital photography, lighting workshops, and Adobe Lightroom.  Kathy is a member of the New England Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University and a member of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA.

Colleen DelVecchio, President

Colleen, owner of Colleen DelVecchio Consulting,

a training, coaching and consulting focused on helping businesses move towards a strength-based leadership model and increase women’s leadership. She has worked with Converse, PFM, BankESB, multiple chambers of commerce, private schools, state universities, and small businesses.  

Betsy Cullen, Treasurer

Betsy spent thirty-four years as a corporate and fine art photographer. Her images are included in corporate, institutional, and private collections.  A second career was launched in 2016 as a personal property appraiser and dealer of fine, rare jewels. Betsy continues to photograph, draw and paint with plans to launch a new online marketplace for her work in 2022.

Melissa Welch, Board Member

Forever a lover of the written word and beautiful branding, Melissa Welch has spent her career helping companies put their best foot- and their best face forward. A storyteller at heart, she is currently the Communications and Content Director for Bay Path University and is the founder of Print Therapy, a stationery company that helps women support other women through life's difficult moments. 

Our Advisory Board members are successful women in various professions, some of whom are past grantees. They provide valuable input from their respective fields, and help to promote the Foundation. 

Masha Hamilton

 

Masha Hamilton is the author of five acclaimed novels. In October 2013, she finished 16 months working in Afghanistan as Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy at the US Embassy. She is currently working as Communications Director for Concern Worldwide. She also founded two world literacy projects, the Camel Book Drive and the Afghan Women's Writing Project. She is the winner of the 2010 Women's National Book Association award, presented "to a living American woman who derives part or all of her income from books and allied arts, and who has done meritorious work in the world of books beyond the duties or responsibilities of her profession or occupation". Liz Taft

Elizabeth Taft has been a working landscape painter for 20 years.  Born in Maryland, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art.  Later, she earned her Master of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  Liz paints en plain aire on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket where there are endless landscapes to capture.  Although she will always be a student, Liz also teaches classes in plein air painting through Featherstone Center for the Arts.  Her work is collected both nationally and internationally.  To see her work go to liztaft.com.

Bonnie Marcus

Bonnie is an award winning entrepreneur, Forbes and Business Insider contributing writer, and President of Women’s Success Coaching. She assists professional women to successfully navigate the workplace and position and promote themselves to advance their careers. With 20+ years of sales and management experience, Bonnie’s extensive business background includes CEO of a ServiceMaster company and VP of Sales at Medical Staffing Network and two others national companies in the healthcare and software industries.
